On his arrival on leave from Gibraltar, 416002 Sergeant Thomas Venables (Tom) Holland RAAF of No 233 Squadron RAF, of Adelaide, SA, who brought with him a large bunch of bananas for distribution among the sick children at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for Children, shared them out to the little patients, many of whom did not know what bananas were.
