Gallipoli, Dardanelles, Turkey, c. 1915-05. The grave of Major Walter White Ellis, 2nd-in-command of 13th Battalion, 1st AIF. The inscription on the cross reads: "In memory of Major W. Ellis, 13th Bn, killed in action May 2nd 1915." Major Ellis came from Hamilton, NSW.
