England. 1943-06-25. Admiral Sir H.D'Oyley Lyon, KCB, Commander-in-Chief, The Nore, meeting officers of the Australian Navy crew of the cruiser Shropshire as the ship was about to be transferred from the British to Australian Navy. The British Government had decided to transfer the warship as a replacement for HMAS Canberra which had been lost in action.
