Mackinlay, Gordon Angus
Description
Three essays written by Mr Mackinlay for course work in industrial relations and psychiatric nursing. The essay `A Military Union: Is there a case for an industrial relations body to represent the Australian Defence Force?' examines this case by firstly looking at the development of defence force unions in some European countries and the United States and then by surveying members of the Australian Defence Force. The second essay `The Hidden Wounds' is a brief examination of Combat Stress Reaction (CSR) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and the third essay `Cyril-Institutionalised Patient' briefly examines a patient hospitalised for 70 years following `shell-shock' suffered in France in 1917.
