Studio portrait of 3610 Private (Pte) William Patrick Tynan, 18th Battalion of Goulburn, NSW. A shop assistant prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Aeneas (A60) on 20 December 1915. On 4 August 1916, he was killed in action at Pozieres, France, aged 24. Pte Tynan has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
