Portrait of VX62116 Private Jack Knipe
Description
Studio portrait of VX62116 Private Jack Knipe 2/14th Australian Infantry Battalion. Private Knipe, of Thornbury, Victoria, enlisted on 20 August 1941 and was presumed dead on 30 August 1942 in Papua, when the Battalion was engaged in fighting in the Isurava area. On the same day one officer and ten other ranks (including Knipe) were killed. Knipe was 18 years old.
