Wallet 2 of 3 - Contains two typed manuscripts of John Desmond Peck’s unpublished memoir Captive in Crete. The memoir details Peck’s experience being stranded on Crete for several months after the Evacuation of Crete. He discusses his time in a German prisoner of war camp, the assistance from the Cretans on the island, and the several attempts to escape the island.
Peck's first draft of the memoir was written c. 1950 and this typed manuscript was created c. 1990 with minimal editing.
The copies are duplicates and therefore only one copy has been digitised.
