Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas. C. 1943-12. Aerial view of the existing pre-war airport, Oakes Field (foregound) named after its prominent resident Sir Harry Oakes (1874–1943). In the far left distance can be seen Windsor Field airfield, constructed for the RAF in 1942 and named after The Bahamas’ then Governor, the Duke of Windsor (formerly King Edward VIII of the United Kingdom).
