Description

Ladbergen, Germany. C. 1944-10. The great havoc which emptied the Dortmund-Ems canal at Ladbergen after attacks by RAF Bomber Command on the night of 1944-09-23/24. Two direct hits by 12,000lb bombs are marked "A". The markings "B" show where the water flooded over the broken embankments. The camouflaged River lane is marked "C".
