Toowoomba, Qld. 1942-07-17. An aerial view showing the 117th General Hospital, Australian Army Medical Corps (AAMC), at "Downlands", a former Roman Catholic College. The photograph, showing the entrance gates, and the city of Toowoomba in the background, was taken from 300 feet by an aircraft of No. 5 Squadron, RAAF. The hospital functioned at this site from 1942-01 to 1943-12 when it was handed back to the school authorities.
