Dugumur Bay, New Guinea. 1944-06-14. Troops of the 4th Infantry Battalion carrying an Indian ex-prisoner-of-war by stretcher to an aircraft for transport to Madang for medical treatment. This man was a member of the 1/14th Punjab Regiment, one of 57 members who were captured by the Japanese at the fall of Singapore and who were used as labourers in New Guinea by the Japanese forces.
