Lieutenant L.A. Smith, probably of Royal Flying Corps enjoying the music being played on handmade instruments by two other officers, in their barracks at Karlsruhe officers' prisoner of war (POW) camp, Germany. One of a series of over 400 photographs sent by Australian POWs in German camps to Miss M. E. Chomley, Secretary, Prisoners Department, Australian-British Red Cross Society, London.
