Studio portrait of 507 Private (Pte) Alfred Terak Elwood, 2nd Battalion. Originally from Woodville, NZ , Pte Elwood was a carpenter from Glebe, NSW prior to enlistment. He embarked from Sydney on 18 October 1914 on HMAT Suffolk. On 17 May 1915 he was killed in action and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial.
