Tokyo, Japan, 1948-02-24. During a parade for the changing of the guard at the Imperial Plaza, an official inspection party headed by a New Zealand officer, possibly Colonel Clifton from the British Commonwealth Sub Area Tokyo, inspects a Regimental Guard Company made of members of the 67th Infantry Battalion serving with BCOF. The officer directly behind the colonel is 3/86 Lieutenant Colonel Fergus MacAdie, the battalion CO, while the soldier at the rear of the inspection party is VX14475 Warrant Officer 1 H. ('Jack') Hardwood, the battalion's Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM). The soldier standing at attention at extreme left is the company commander, 5/7509 Lieutenant Bernard Shelley O'Dowd. (Donor I.
