Description
Private Robert Syron, a member of 2nd/4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (RAR), serving in Rwanda as part of the infantry protection element for the Australian Medical Support Force, stands on guard behind a tall iron gate at King Feisal Hospital while on security patrol. Private Syron is carrying a Steyr F88 service rifle. The Australian Medical Support Force is providing medical treatment for United Nations (UN) troops deployed to repatriate refugees affected by the civil war, and to provide humanitarian assistance to local people.
