Major Oswald, a member of the 308-strong Australian Medical Support Force, was tasked by the UN to teach international forces about their legal responsibilities when using force to carry out their duties. His lectures and practical demonstrations were given to numerous African peacekeepers, British, Canadian, Indian and Australian troops.
