Parkes, NSW. c.1941-03. A trainee at the RAAF Astro Navigation School sits at a desk at the front of a classroom. The blackboard behind him is filled with words of advice to the next course, such as their motto "always look behind you before you spear". Also written in bold letters is the message "Good luck 5 Course - You'll need it". (Original photograph album housed in the AWM Private Records Collection at PR00491).
