Description

Aerial view taken from a helicopter of smoke billowing from the ground alongside the Rach Ma Rai River, about sixty kilometres south of Saigon in the Plain of Reeds. This followed the explosion of bombs dropped during a B-52 air strike code named Arc Light. It was taken as the bombs dropped by the third B-52 aircraft involved in the strike start to explode, about fourteen seconds after those dropped by the lead aircraft. This air strike was carried out by six B-52's, two three ship cells. The Mekong River can be seen in the background.
