Description
Biography of Leading Seaman Ron Taylor, mentioning early life, prewar RAN service, (training at HMAS Cerberus and serving on HMAS Australia, Vampire, Penguin, and Adelaide). Describes Taylor's wartime service on HMAS Yarra, and the movements of the Yarra (including Tobruk Ferry Run) until it was sunk in 1942 with Taylor on board, still firing at the Japanese warships. Includes photocopies of Taylor's last letter home, service record, birth certificate, photo, and newspaper articles.
