Description

Manuscript written by Sergeant Albert Williams, "What was it like to be a POW dad?", describing his Second World War service in the Middle East and capture by the Germans in Tobruk. Williams was held at a number of prisoner of war camps in Derna, Benghazi and Tripoli and Camp PG57 Grupignano in Italy. Williams writes about the construction of a tunnel and a failed escape attempt at Camp PG57, his internment at Stalag XVIII A, Wolfsberg Austria and escape at Markt Pongau just before the end of the war.
