Description
Honshu, Japan, c. 1950-09. Two members of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), drive their Bren gun carrier no. 2696 along a road through a Japanese village. Notwithstanding the vehicle's name, it is armed with a Vickers machine gun which is pointing out from its front. Another Bren gun carrier is following at right. The soldiers and vehicles are returning to Hiro after taking part in a training exercise at Haramura in preparation for 3RAR's move to Korea from BCOF.
