Gaunus (Gaunaus), Kalat Shergat (Shargat), Mesopotamia. 1918-10-29. Members of No. 10 Station, 1st Wireless Signal Squadron, Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force, sit amongst their equipment on the bank while waiting to be ferried across the Tigris River in boats and pontoons at the Gaunus crossing. They were taking part in the Kalat Shergat offensive, their final encounter with the Turks before the Armistice. (Donor H. Isaacs)
