Darwin, NT. c. 1943. Flying Officer (FO) Ralph R. James standing outside No. 2 Squadron RAAF headquarters. James was probably acting as Orderly Officer for the day (note the pistol and kit he is wearing). FO James was killed in action on 28 April 1943 piloting a No. 2 Squadron RAAF Hudson light bomber over the Arafura Sea. (Originals housed in AWM Archive Store) (Donor E. Williams)
