Description
Papers illustrating prisoner of war experiences at Maru Yama camp and Fukuoka camp at Kobe and Kyushu. Includes address book made from cigarette papers; notebook containing honour roll for deaths at Kobe 1943-1945 and notes on gardening, rations, ships built at Kawasaki shipyards and bombing of Kobe; prayer book given by fellow POW; speech urging POWs to work hard for Japanese captors; issues of "The Zoo Post" and "HMT EE Daily News Sheet"; documents regarding mistreatment of Kildey and a Dutch prisoner; sketches of Changi; a leaflet on the Changi Murals; and copies of Nagasaki peace declarations 1983-1984.
