Wallet 1 of 1 - Consists of one letter each from Gibbs and Clark to Major (later Lieutenant Colonel) Jon Herbert, 1 Transport Squadron in Holsworthy, New South Wales, regarding their respective deployments with UNOSOM and UNTAC. Gibbs' letter, dated 23 February 1993, discusses the efforts to establish a camp near Mogadishu airport, the amenities at the camp, the logistical movement of equipment and vehicles, gunfire and firefights in the city, his perceptions of Mogadishu, and the Norwegian rations supplied to his unit. In her letter [written c July 1993], Sergeant Jodie Clark writes of the reconstruction efforts in Battambang, theft, her perceptions of Cambodians, living conditions, her visit to Phnom Penh, medical aid to civilians, and recreation, including a casino night at the barracks.
