Description
British Pattern 1871 Cutlass Bayonet & Scabbard. The hilt has a sheet steel guard and compressed black leather checkered grips that are held to the tang with four rivets. The pommel is stamped 128 and has inspectors marks near the slot. The straight plain blade is double edged for the last eight inches to the spear point. The ricasso is stamped with an arrow over WD plus inspector's stamps over 4/75 on the right and a crown over VR on the left. The black leather scabbard has a nickel plated steel chape and frog stud locket.
