Barnett, Edward James (Gunner) and George Barnett (Warrant Officer)
Description
Issue of Railway Warrant, 2 postcards and 4 original letters of Gunner Edward (Ted) James Barnett (No.5859), 12th Reinforcements, 1st Field Artillery Brigade and 2 original letters of Warrant Officer George Barnett to their brother, Bert in Australia. Gunner Ted Barnett describes the process of travelling from France for leave in England; leave spent in Paris and his views on the defeat of the conscription referendum at home. Warrant Officer George Barnett mentions his hospital work in Egypt. Both brothers show a keen interest in Bert's life in Australia, his involvement in church movements and their friends generally. The brothers appear to have come from a Church of England family in Mildura, NSW.
