Description
On stage at Luscombe Bowl, 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF), 4720340 Private (Pte) Evan Jones of Highgate, SA, a member of 5th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (5RAR), was an entertainer before being called up for National Service in October 1968 and is well known to the visiting entertainers from his pre-Army days. Although the Diggers enjoyed Pte Evan's impromptu act, the stars of the concert party were Bev Harrell, the Wills Sisters, Anne and Sue, and the brother and sister act, Ricky and Tammy and a three-man band. The troupe, sponsored by the Army, will wind up its tour of Vietnam with a show for US servicemen, and will then fly to Singapore, and later Malaysia, to entertain more Australian troops.
