Description

Nui Dat, South Vietnam. May 1971. Major J. M. Masters, MC, (left) Battery Commander of 161 Battery, Royal New Zealand Artillery (RNZA), receives the Royal Australian Artillery (RAA) trophy for almost five years of continual support of Battalions of the RAA. Awarding the trophy is the Commanding Officer, 12 Field Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel B. R. Topfer. Although only awarded in the presence of 12 Field Regiment officers and sergeants, the inscription on it reads that it also represents the 1st and 4th Field Regiments, RAA. All three regiments have commanded 161 Battery on two occasions each since 1966.
