Private (Pte) Dennis Moss of Kilsyth, Vic, on guard with an M60 machine gun during a cordon and search of Ap Bac, a hamlet about a mile south of 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) base at Nui Dat. Pte Moss is a soldier of D Company, 12 Platoon, 7 Section, 8 Battalion Royal Australian Regiment (8RAR), which provided infantry protection while engineers searched about twenty houses.
