Moore, Geoffrey E. MID DFM (Flight Lieutenant, d.1993)
Papers relating to Flight Lieutenant Geoffrey E. Moore, Royal Zealand Air Force (RNZAF), who served with No. 75 Squadron (RNZAF) for operational training, No. 149 Squadron (RAF) and No. 148 Squadron (RAF). As an Air Gunner he took part in 69 operations during WW2. The papers consist of: (1) his RNZAF Observer's and Air Gunner's Flying Log Book, 5 January 1940 - 21 September 1943 detailing training and bombing operations over Europe, Egypt, Greece and Crete; (2) his small handwritten diary (written in a printed Greek diary), 1 January - 31 December 1941, with daily entries recording operations over Greece and Benghazi, recreational activities, mail received and leave; (3) typescript narrative compiled by Greg Moore in 1996 detailing the operations flown by his brother, Geoff, between 13 June 1940 and 5 June 1942, and based on entries in the logbook and diary described above.
