Description

Records collected by Dr Merrilyn L. Sernack on behalf of the 2/110th Australian General Transport Company (AGT) Association which represents members of the 2/110 AGT which was based in the Northern Territory between 1942 and 1945. The records were accumulated during the Association's bid to receive recognition of the operational service of unit members for the purposes of the Returned From Active Service Badge. The service was officially recognised in April 1997. The papers include membership lists; correspondence, 1992-1997, of Dr Sernack and her father, Sidney Sernack, with government departments and other members of the Association including details of their service in response to a questionnaire; newspaper clippings, 1994-1995, re the badge, 1942 (copy); copies of the Association's newsletter, Track Happy, 1952-1963, 1992-1996; and notes made by Dr Sernack from the unit's war diaries.
