Vic. Paybook photograph of VX37031 Private Samuel Thomas Clark, 2/7th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Clark, aged 36, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 27 May 1941. He was the son of Mr and Mrs George William Clark, and the stepson of Florence Clark, of Brighton Beach, Vic. He is buried in the Suda Bay Cemetery Section 5, Row C, Plot 4.
