WA. Paybook photograph of WX1552 Lieutenant George Horwood Fauckner, 2/3rd Field Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery. Lieutenant Fauckner, aged 24, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 21 May 1941. He was the son of Edgar Horwood Fauckner and Mollie Fauckner, of Mount Lawley, WA. He is buried in the Suda Bay Cemetery Section 1, Row B, Plot 9.
