WA. Paybook photograph of WX1893 Private Angus Frank Windsor, 2/11th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Windsor, aged 26, died on 1 April 1945, as a Prisoner of War (POW), after being captured defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion. He was the son of John William and Ella May Windsor, of Dowerin, WA. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 12. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency.
