Description

A long and dusty column of British troops, probably led by their Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Lord Roberts, enters the Boer capital Pretoria in the Transvaal. Onlookers watch as the column passes a railway siding set in front of several undulating hills. Men from the New South Wales Mounted Rifles were among those British soldiers which finally captured the city that day.

A long and dusty column of mounted horsemen enter the Boer capital Pretoria in the Transvaal as local settlers watch. It is possibly headed by Lord Roberts whose men, with Australians to the fore, captured the city after a long campaign. The column is passing an unidentified railway siding set in front of several undulating hills.
