Description

Personal papers of Colonel Aikyo Masao, commander of the Japanese Imperial Army forces in North Sarawak, Borneo in 1945. They concern the massacre of prisoners of war on 10 June 1945. Aikyo surrendered to Brigadier Victor Windeyer in September 1945 and committed suicide the following month. There are personnel effects of Aikyo in the Relics collection (Relics 33039, 33040, 33041).
