Description
Collection relating to the service of Lieutenant (Lt) Leslie William Warner, 34th Battalion, First World War. The collection comprises four letters and postcards written by Lt Warner to his fiancee Miss Meredith between November 1916 and April 1917 describing his officer training, entertainment in London and combat in France; a letter from the unit chaplain notifying his fiancee of Lt Warner's death in action at Messines, France, on 8th June 1917; two portrait photographs of Lt Warner and a group portrait of Lewis Gun School, 3rd Australian Division, October 1916.
