Presbyterian clergyman Hector Harrison prepares to take a photograph at the Canberra railway station while US nurses give encouragement from the train carriage and an unidentified serviceman looks on from the platform. Harrison became minister at St Andrews Presbyterian Church in May 1940 and remained there until his death in 1978. He was a chaplain in the militia during the Second World War and later at the Royal Military College at Duntroon and HMAS Harman.
