Description
A service is performed on the deck of the troopship HMS Hororata prior to a burial at sea on Christmas Day. Formerly a horsebreaker of Walla Walla, 669 Gunner James Dalton, 1st Brigade Field Artillery, died of enteric fever and jaundice. The ship was en route from Lemnos to Alexandria with troops evacuated from Gallipoli. (Original housed in AWM Archive Store)
