History / Summary
589 Lance Corporal Harold Percy Ellis, a brassmoulder from Rosewater, South Australia, enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 7 September 1914, aged 21. Serving with 12 Battalion, he embarked for overseas service aboard HMAT Geelong 10 days after enlistment. He was killed in action at Pozieres on 25 July 1916. He was the youngest of three brothers who died during the First World War. They were the sons of Arthur and Margaret Ellis.
