Group portrait of AIF officers in the Special Draft onboard the troopship HMAT Nestor (A71) sailing for England. The officers embarked in Melbourne, Victoria on 28 February 1918 and disembarked in Liverpool, UK on 20 April 1918. Officers have been identified as follows but their positions are not known: Second Lieutenant (2nd Lt) Harry Benjamin Carne (later 32nd Battalion); 2nd Lt Alfred Alexander Pearce (later killed in action in France on 10 August 1918 while serving with the 10th Battalion); 2nd Lt John Ainsworth Horrocks (later died of wounds in France while serving with the 27th Battalion) [see image H13840]; 2nd Lt Robert Ewen Cameron (later lieutenant with 48th Battalion and awarded MC); 2nd Lt Thomas Tangye Bain (later lieutenant with 10th Battalion); and 2nd Lt Frederick Percival Mitchell (later lieutenant with 48th Battalion) .
