Four members of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), take a break from operations to satisfy their hunger. They are identified as, left to right: 3833 Sergeant Alfred Martin Harris MM, 5854 Private D K Renshaw, 22416 Lance Corporal D Wilson, unidentified. They are sitting in a field, eating food that has been supplied in individual cardboard ration boxes. Sgt Harris won the Military Medal (MM) in 1954, for courage, gallant conduct and efficiency related to his efforts to infiltrate enemy territory.
