(i) Letter of VX94616 Private John (Jack) S. Stevens (14th Australian Infantry Training Battalion) from Cowra dated November 1944, advising that he expects to be transferred to Canungra, Queensland, for jungle training. (ii) Letter of Lieutenant Colonel Robert Ainslie (2/48th Battalion) dated May 1945 to Stevens' father advising him of his son's death at Tarakan, Borneo.
