Description
Notebook compiled by VX 185098 Gunner (later Sergeant) Keith B. Davis (D Troop, Sound Ranging Battery, 2nd Survey Regiment) with technical notes on sound ranging, artillery, air defence and air action against land forces, and gas warfare. Davis, then a Gunner with 2nd Australian Artillery Survey Regiment (CMF), kept the notebook while training in 1941-42 at Balcombe Army Camp, Mount Martha, from which he gained the classification Specialist Surveyor (Instrument Operator). From August 1945 he was an official photographer with the Military History Section (MHS). (See Photographs Collection.)
