Charles Bean relaxing in the sun with a group of nurses at the Queanbeyan Hospital, following treatment for a skin abscess on his neck. His future wife Ethel "Effie" Young sits to his right. One of a series of photographs taken by C E W Bean or family members during his time spent at Tuggeranong Homestead while writing the 'Official History of Australia at War 1914-1918'. The photographs comprise mostly of family, friends, staff and the local region. Photographs from the private collection of C E W Bean held at AWM 38 3DRL 6673.
