An informal portrait of 033061 Flight Lieutenant C R (Nobby) Noble taken outside a hut at the base. A member of 77 Squadron RAAF, he served with distinction in Korea being awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) as well as a US Air Medal. He was among those Squadron pilots who flew Mustang P-51D aircraft in operations soon after the outbreak of the war.
