Major R F Morrison (left), of Cottesloe, WA, Officer Commanding B Company (B Coy), 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR) and 2/40195 Lieutenant Albert P (Bert) Cassidy (right), of Canberra ACT, Intelligence Officer, B Coy, 1 RAR, check their notes whilst making a reconnaissance of the Perak River for a suitable landing place. Patrolling 1RAR soldiers are ferried up the river in 18 foot river boats from the 1RAR forward base at Grik.
