Description
Dog handler 14623 Private (Pte) Douglas John (Doug) Fieldhouse (left), of Woodside, SA, and his coverman 15321 Pte Peter D Lamb (right), of Albion, Qld, are on the move with Goldie the tracker dog during a jungle patrol in North Borneo. The tracker team are attached to 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR) and conduct regular patrols along the Sarawak-Kalimantan border. Pte Fieldhouse also served in Malaya and later in South Vietnam with 7th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (7RAR) between 1967 and 1968 and again with 7RAR between 1970 and 1971. Pte Lamb also served in Malaya and Singapore during the Indonesian Confrontation period during the early 1960s. He is armed with an Owen machine carbine.
