Description
Unidentified men from 24 Construction Squadron, Royal Australian Engineers (RAE), work to construct a 70 mile long section of road through thick tropical rainforest in the state of Sabah, North Borneo. A wheeled front end loader, with the army registration number (ARN) 97057, is filling a small International dump truck with surfacing material which is being piled up by the International Harvester TD15 crawler dozer in the background. The ground has been churned to mud because of heavy unseasonal rains and the sappers are working against time before the monsoon seasons starts in earnest.
